Smruthi Vanam
This programme motivates people to plant ‘Memorial orchards/gardens’ either by themselves or by CGR in the memory of their departed ancestors and their loved ones. The trees thus grown will always be remembered along with the memory of the person. The word “Smruthi” means “remembering” and “Vanam” means garden, thus giving the meaning of Smruthi-Vanam as “Remembering by Planting”. The demise of the dear ones, mainly family members and relatives is always an emotional journey. Their love and affection could never be regained. To remember and recollect their love, Smruthi-Vanam tries to promote plantation of saplings and growing trees in the name of the departed soul. The shade of the tree would enable animals to take shelter and the blessings of the tree would indeed be the blessings of the departed soul. By sensitizing households, CGR could promote the planting of 11,103 saplings through these programmes. |
