Earth Centre

Creating Earth Leadership for sustainable future

The Earth Centre, proposed by Council for Green Revolution (CGR) is an independent think tank and premier environmental education and research centre that will strive towards realization of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which were set by United Nations. It is a social and ecological experiment located in the context of India. The Earth Centre is an arrangement to pursue CGRs work in environmental education and research in more ambitious way, so as to reach more people. The Earth Centre which is envisaged ‘working towards a sustainable future’ is a step in this direction. The Centre envisions for ‘a world where human progress is realized through environmental care and protection’.

The center’s foundation stone was laid on the CGR’s 9th Foundation Day i.e. the Earth Day, 22 April 2018 at the centre near Anmaspally village (Hyderabad to Srisailam road) which is just 20 Kms away from the Hyderabad airport. The foundation stone was laid by Shri M.C. Mehta, Advocate at the Supreme Court of India and an eminent Enviro-legal activist.

The Earth Centre will realize this vision by working towards three strategic objectives across its programming-

  1. Locking together high quality applied research, capacity building, and policy focused dissemination and debate.
  2. Finding environmental solutions to provide employment and training opportunities.
  3. Building the leaders for today and tomorrow to ensure care and protection of ecological capital.

Besides conducting high-end training and policy research, the centre would indirectly work with partners to reach out to various other stakeholders and development practitioners at cutting edge level.  The centre will be working to reach out to all the strategic players at the program and policy level.
