R. Dileep Reddy
Phd Research on Right to Information is under persuasion with Andhra University, Vishakhapatnam, Though he did his Bachelor’s degree in Botonny Zoology and Chemistry (BZC), he later pursued the Bachelor of Journalism, Masters of Journalism and Law. Shri R. Dileep Reddy served as State Information Commissioner, AP Information Commission (RTIA) Hyderabad with utmost dedication and commitment. He was appointed by Hon’ble Governor of Andhra Pradesh on 16th November 2005 for a tenure of five years, which was completed by 15th November 2010.
Having equal status of State Chief Secretary toured the State extensively for the period of five years and later also addressed more than 1300 meetings on Right to Information Act and related subjects ranging from transparency in Governance, accountability and answerability of the Govt. functionaries, strengthening of Democracy etc. As Commissioner, Right to Information he has delivered so many judgments on transparency, information-service matters, quasi-judicial issues in administration. As visiting faculty/invitee Mr. Reddy delivered lectures at Premier Institutions i.e. DR. MCRHRD, CGG, APPA, NTPC, Power Grid Corporation, many defense organizations, almost all the Universities and many departments of Govt. of AP. Apart from attending several National and State level seminars and conventions, he also published number of articles and news items in different publications of contemporary press and journals. Before joining as Information Commissioner, he was Journalist with Eenadu, a leading and largest circulated Telugu daily. Headed as chief of Political Bureau at Hyderabad from 2000 to 2004 and headed Delhi Bureau from 2004 to 2005. He Joined Eenadu in 1989 as Staff Reporter / Sub Editor and subsequently elevated as Sr. Reporter in 1995, as Chief Reporter in 2000. Worked with City Bureau, Crime Bureau, General Bureau, Political Bureau. Being a law graduate covered extensively the crime and legal aspects and as general bureau correspondent reported in-depth analytical stories pertaining to many public concern issues and administrative matters.
As Reporter covered various events and assignments like reporting AICC plenary sessions held at Tirupathi, Kolkatta, Bangalore, National conventions of BJP held at Chennai, Hyderabad etc. Apart from covering UP General elections he covered almost all the Parliament, Assembly General elections and Local body elections held in Andhra Pradesh right from 1989 to 2004(15 years). As Reporter he got vast exposure while covering many major events and disasters like Lathure earthquake, Konaseema cyclone, Hyderabad communal rights etc.
As part of development journalism contributed many articles and news items on Health, Education, and Environment, Socio economic and political aspects of contemporary society. Dileep Reddy also served as teacher for two years (1986-88) with a Private Educational Institution in Medak, Native District. With lot of love and affection towards teaching profession got appreciation from concerned sections and has been felicitated as best teacher by different Civil Society Organizations.
Mr. Reddy Actively participated in many programs on social and environmental issues. Regularly associated with many organizations working in adult education, value-based education, women empowerment, green revolution, media reforms, social audit, transparent governance etc. In association with many cultural, social and education Institutions working to promote public harmony, public health and in the area of poverty eradication. Addressed and organized many meetings on environment issues for promotion of green, conservation of water and other natural resources, protection of eco balance etc. Become a regular invitee to various public and corporate organizations and Premier Training Institutions as Guest faculty to talk on various issues.
Presently Mr. Reddy is Executive Editor, Sakshi telugu daily. He is also serving as Principal Sakshi School of Journalism (SSJ). He served as Managing Editor, Sakshi TV 2011-13. Being founder Chairman of Greens Allianz for Conservation of Eastern ghats (GrACE) contributed a lot, still continuing as its president to serve environment protection.
